Schola Cantorum of Texas is currently establishing the Schola Cantorum Children’s Chorus. Under direction of the Board of Directors, the Children’s Chorus Committee and the Children's Artistic Director is building the infrastructure, gathering a volunteer support base, and generating funding to begin our first season of concerts, starting with their debut in December 2011.  The chorus seeks to involve students from a broad range of Tarrant County schools. Our goal of delivering superior choral training to volunteer singers at an early age will heighten the area musical atmosphere. Fort Worth is one of the few major cities in the state that does not have a true community children’s choir, and Schola has the resources, personnel, desire and expertise to develop a world-class group.  With support from a grant for partial funding from the Sid Richardson Foundation as well as generous contributions from the Schola Board of Directors, much of the groundwork is well underway.  For more information email:  children@scholatexas.com
